Taste Just Like Grandma's Biscuits

Anybody that knows me, knows I have struggled--like straight up wanted to say bad words, kind of struggled to make a good homemade biscuit.

I guess in my mind, if you're a girl born in the south, it's an unwritten rule that you should just automatically be able to make an amazing biscuit from scratch. Sweet Jesus was I wrong! I have worked at it forever and I finally got it!

And let me tell y'all, I may have done a goofy little happy dance in my kitchen that had my kids laughing at me! It's the small things!! :)

INGREDIENTS:

-2 c flour

-1 Tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

-1 tsp salt

-1/2 tsp baking soda

-8oz sour cream

-1 Tbsp + 1 tsp. vegetable oil

-4 Tbsp soft butter

DIRECTIONS:

Mix together the first four ingredients.

Next, add your sour cream by the spoonful on top of your dry ingredients. Mix well with a spoon until it's all combined.

Turn your dough out on to a floured surface and knead with your hands 8-10 times. Roll the dough out in to a 8" circle (give or take) and cut out dough with a biscuit cutter or floured glass rim.

Top with pats of butter and bake at 425 for 12-14 minutes.

When the biscuits are done, pull them out of the oven and top with more butter.

Serve warm with some homemade jam, or let cool and use as a side to breakfast or supper!
