The Best Homemade French Fries

Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a POTATO girl 100%!!

No lie, my grandma used to make sure there was SOME sort of potato at any family dinners because of yours truly! She'd make stewed potatoes, fried potatoes, mashed potatoes--you name, she probably made it.

So I'm saying that to say, there are ALWAYS potatoes in our house. And I had some russett potatoes that needed to be used up and what better way to do that than to make some homemade french fries?!

My mama recently gave me my grandma's french fry cutter, so I was super excited to try it out! If you're looking for one, you can grab one HERE for about $20ish.

Let me tell you how to make these amazing fries! So good!!

Grab your potatoes (as many as you want/need). Run them each through the potato cutter and add to a bowl. When you've cut as many potatoes as you need and added them to the bowl, fill the bowl full over water and place it in the fridge for the potatoes to soak for roughly 90 minutes.

Pull your bowl of potatoes out of the fridge, drain the water and pour your potatoes onto a baking sheet lined with paper towels. Grab more towels and pat dry!

In a pan or deep fryer, heat your oil to about 300-325 and fry your potatoes for around 5-6 minutes (they won't be brown and done) in batches and place on a newly lined baking sheet.

Once all your potatoes are done from that batch of frying, increase the temperature of your oil to about 400. Again, in batches, fry your potatoes! Reline your pan to soak the grease up, top with Paula Deen's house seasoning (DIY recipe HERE) and you have the best fries ever! Crunchy on the outside and amazingly soft in the middle!
