If you live in any part of the south, I'm sure you've had a Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl once or twice. If not, do you live under a rock? LOL! I'm kidding.
The bowls are sooo good, but have recently gone up in cost. When there are three of us that could eat a bowl each morning, seven days a week--that get's pricey! That's over $50 per week or $8 per day. And I know $8 per day doesn't sound like much, but when I could make 3 bowls for under $5 (and they have more substance), I call that a win!!
Ingredients:
potatoes
eggs
sausage gravy
shredded cheese
Directions:
Peel and dice your potatoes (use as many as you like or you think will feed your desired number of people). Add to a bowl, drizzle over olive oil and season with salt, pepper & garlic powder. Toss to coat and bake on a baking sheet at 425 for about 30 minutes.
While the potatoes are roasting, make your sausage gravy (recipe HERE) and set to the side.
Scramble eggs (I used five for three bowls--add in a splash of heavy cream, salt & pepper).
When all your food is done, layer your bowl like this: EGGS, POTATOES, SAUSAGE GRAVY & SHREDDED CHEESE. Stir it all to combine and melt cheese.
Enjoy!!
